THE LEADERSHIP PROJECT

Pilgrimage to India, Pilgrimage to Self

10–30 November 2026 | 21 Days | India

This is not a holiday.

It is not another retreat.

It is a pilgrimage into communities, into service, into leadership, and ultimately, into yourself.

Over 21 days, you will step beyond the familiar and immerse yourself in a journey that will challenge your perspective, expand your understanding of humanity, and invite you to examine the way you lead your own life.

Through ancient culture, grassroots community projects, meaningful relationships and shared experiences, this pilgrimage offers an opportunity to witness what becomes possible when people lead with courage, compassion and purpose.

If something within you has been quietly calling for more, this may be the journey you have been waiting for.

This Is More Than Travel

There are journeys that show us new places.

Then there are journeys that reveal new parts of ourselves.

The Leadership Project was created for those who understand that true leadership is not built in comfort, but through lived experience, humility, service and self-awareness.

India has a way of stripping away distraction.

It invites us to witness extraordinary beauty alongside profound hardship. It asks us to slow down, observe, listen deeply and question what truly matters.

Throughout this pilgrimage you will spend time within inspiring grassroots organisations, community-led initiatives and projects changing lives from the ground up.

You will witness people creating lasting impact with limited resources but extraordinary heart.

As you learn from them, you will inevitably begin learning about yourself.

Who This Journey Is For

This pilgrimage is for people who feel called to lead differently.

You may be:

  • A facilitator, coach or practitioner
  • A business owner or entrepreneur
  • A community leader
  • Someone navigating a significant life transition
  • Someone longing to reconnect with purpose
  • Someone who knows there is another level of leadership waiting to emerge

You do not need all the answers.

You simply need the willingness to arrive with an open mind, an open heart and a willingness to be changed by what you experience

The Journey

Being-Centred Leadership

Our journey begins with an immersive leadership experience exploring the foundations of authentic leadership, opening our hearts up to the journey we are about to embark on. To not only understand ourselves but other humans

Together we will examine who we are beneath achievement, identity and expectation.

Through guided experiences, reflection and conversation, you will explore what it truly means to lead from your heart & alignment rather than performance.

Learning From Communities

Throughout our time in India, we will spend time with remarkable organisations creating meaningful change.

Together we will witness projects supporting women, young people, artisans and communities overcoming significant social challenges.

These are not charity visits.

They are opportunities to learn from people whose resilience, innovation and commitment to community offer profound lessons in leadership.

Pilgrimage to Self

As we travel through India, we also travel inward.

This pilgrimage creates intentional space to pause, reflect and integrate.

The conversations, experiences and relationships formed throughout the journey often become catalysts for lasting personal and professional transformation.

Why India?

India is a place of extraordinary contrast.

Ancient wisdom exists alongside rapid modernisation.

Great wealth exists alongside great poverty.

Deep devotion exists alongside everyday complexity.

Rather than simply observing these realities, we will step into communities and projects where local people are creating meaningful, sustainable change.

This pilgrimage is not about arriving with solutions.

It is about arriving with humility.

Listening.

Learning.

Being willing to have your worldview expanded.

Some of the greatest leadership lessons cannot be taught in a classroom.

They must be experienced

What You Will Experience

During this pilgrimage you will experience:

  • A four-day Becoming-Centred Leadership immersion
  • Visits to grassroots community initiatives
  • Women’s empowerment projects
  • Youth development programmes
  • Community-led social enterprises
  • Time with local artisans and changemakers
  • Facilitated leadership discussions
  • Personal reflection and integration
  • Cultural experiences throughout India
  • Deep connection with like-minded leaders from around the world

Every experience has been intentionally chosen to create meaningful learning—not only about leadership, but about humanity.

Meet Your Guide

Hi, I’m Carolyn

Founder of CML Promotions & Conscious Events & The Leadership Project: Pilgrimage to India; Pilgrimage to Self.

I’m a conscious business owner, leader & I am passionate about leading with the heart by supporting my clients business brands but also within communities.

Working with people to create solutions has always been my jam.

This work went to a whole new level after losing my son 18 years ago & this is where this Pilgrimage to India, Pilgrimage to Self was born.

This pilgrimage is guided by someone who believes leadership begins with self-awareness, service and relationship.

Following her own experiences in India, she recognised that some of the world’s greatest teachers are not found on stages, but within communities quietly creating extraordinary change.

Her commitment is to create a safe, thoughtfully facilitated experience where participants are supported to learn, reflect and grow while honouring the people and communities who welcome us.
